User Guide on How to make an app for WordPress websites
This article will guide you on how to make an app for a website, either created by WordPress or any other platform, as long as the website is mobile friendly.
First, you need to sign up for a hosting account, where your website will be hosted of course.
Secondly, after you have registered for a hosting account, you can now create your site.
To convert your website into an app, go to Web2App and get access to their premium app builder. You will need to make a purchase to have access to their app builder (highly recommended). It takes five minutes at most to convert your website into a mobile app.
Choose a responsive WordPress theme for your website
When you are done making your app using the Web2App builder, your website will look and feel like a mobile app.
This works for all sites, blogs, portfolios, online stores, etc

Creating your website (Skip this part if you already have a website)
In this article, we will go ahead and create a completely new WordPress website.
You will need to have purchased a hosting account to get access to the control panel (commonly known as cPanel) and it is here that you will search for the “Install WordPress” icon.
On the next prompt screen, click ‘Install Now’ for a brand new installation.
Then you’ll get to choose the domain name you registered with your web hosting account.
You can name this however you want it, but for the purpose of this tutorial, fill in “webapp” for the subdirectory field (image below) and click “Check Domain”.
Enter the required fields, such as the name of your site and password for your login credentials, and select ‘Install’
Finding the right mobile responsive theme
There are great responsive WordPress themes out there.
You don’t necessarily have to find one that totally resembles that app you love using on your phone. As a tip however, themes that use large photo-like tiles for user navigation will do the trick. Again, this doesn’t have to be the case.
Below is an example of what I’m talking about. The theme below resembles an app when its displayed on a smart phone:
This is the Android or iOS preview.
And if you have another device, such as an iPad, below is how the theme will look like:
Another WordPress theme that looks just as promising via mobile is the one below, however this is a premium theme, meaning it is not a free theme.
When you do get one that pleases your eye, download the zip file.
Installing a new WordPress theme
Next, login to your WordPress dashboard (yourdomain.com/webapp/wp-admin) and click on the Themes area under the Appearance menu.
Click “Add New” theme, and then “Upload”. Choose the compressed zip file of your downloaded theme, and install it.
Immediately the theme is installed, click the “Activate” button to set your website to use your desired theme.
Go to yourdomain/webapp (in this case, your website) and you should see your new website look. This is your WordPress theme in display!
What you are now seeing is the desktop view, so now go to your smart device and check out your website.
To build your mobile app (Android, iOS, Blackberry, Windows or Amazon), go to your Web2App builder. You will need to make a purchase depending on your desired package at Web2App to access the web2app builder. You will then enter your website URL and the app builder will automatically generate the mobile app for you. This is one of the best app builders I’ve come across. You can now download the app and install it on your smart device, and you can also regenerate your app in the app builder if you want to make any changes. As if that is not enough, this amazing app builder also builds YouTube channel apps and Facebook page apps that are unique and highly customizable.
When you run your mobile app, you may be feel proud of your accomplishment so kindly tap yourself on the shoulder at what you thought you could not build yourself. You’ll see your mobile responsive website loading as an app, and feeling like one.
This is a fast and ultra simple method on how to make an app for WordPress websites, or how to make an app for an existing website provided the site has a responsive WordPress theme.
